Mae Thompson (@maethompson.bsky.social) is Advocacy Officer at the Ceasefire Centre for Civilian Rights, where she leads projects on UK military accountability and reparations for civilian harm in Ukraine. Her work focuses on the intersection of civilian rights and emergent and transformative justice, with an emphasis on the meaningful engagement of affected and marginalised communities in policymaking and international legal and political processes. Previously, she was Senior Advocacy Officer at Lawyers for Justice in Libya, where she worked on transitional justice initiatives and accountability for human rights violations and serious international crimes, engaging with various UN mechanisms and the International Criminal Court. Mae’s research and advocacy have informed and driven domestic and international debate on key issues surrounding human rights and the laws of war, including migration, women, peace and security, civilian protection, and reparations for individual victims of civilian harm. Her writing has been published in The New Humanitarian, E-International Relations, and the European Council on Refugees and Exiles. Mae holds an MA in Conflict, Displacement, and Human Security from the University of East London.
