Justine Bendel

About/Bio

Dr Justine Bendel is a lecturer in international environmental and climate change law at the University of Leeds. She was previously a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Copenhagen, working on the implementation of global environmental law for the protection of forests. She has recently published her monograph Litigating the Environment (E. Elgar, 2023), investigating how environmental disputes are handled by international courts and tribunals. She has also worked in cases before the ITLOS and the ICJ, as well as at ClientEarth.
