Thomas Obel Hansen
Thomas Obel Hansen is the 2023-24 Maria Zambrano Distinguished Researcher (Recualificacion) with Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain). He is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at Ulster University (UK) and a member of the Transitional Justice Institute (TJI). He holds an LLM (2007) and PhD in Law (2010) from Aarhus University Law School (Denmark). He is currently writing a book "Judging the Powerful in Global Accountability Regimes" (forthcoming Routledge).

Almost 8 months into the Gaza War, International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan announced on 20 May that he has applied to the Court’s pre-trial chamber for the issuing of arrest warrants for three top Hamas leaders as well as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant (the “arrest warrant requests”).
